Hello, Sixth Grade!
I am so excited to get this year started! I've been working feverishly making plans for our school year and wanted to give you a heads up to some tests you will have the first week of school.
- August 21 - Multiplication Test on facts 3x1 through 12x12.
- Students are required to achieve a 95% or greater on this test. Retests will be given daily until a 95% can be achieved.
- August 22 - Vocabulary Test (below are the words and definitions for this test)
- respite - a short period of rest or relieft
- preempt - to replace with something considered to be of greater value
- proliferate - increase rapidly
- antithesis - a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else
- schlep - to procede or move especially slowly, tediously, awkwardly or carelessly
- August 23 - Spelling Test on List 1 (this list also includes vocabulary words)
- Students will write the words on a sheet of notebook paper as dictated by the teacher.
- For vocabulary words, the teacher will say the definition of the word and the students will write the word on the same sheet of notebook paper. (A word list will be written on the board)
