ANNOUCEMENTS AND SPECIAL DATES: 

• On Tuesday, September 3rd from approximately 10:00am-12:00pm, the school's internet and phones will be down for maintenance. Please be advised that we will not be able to communicate via either of these modalities during that time. 

• September 2 - Labor Day - No School 
• September 16 - Parent Teacher Conferences (more information to come; if interested email me for time) 
• September 20 - Picture Day 
• September 25 - See You at the Pole (prayer at flag pole) 
• October 1 - NLCA Literature Fair 
• October 4 - Grandparents' Day (early dismissal) 
• October 10 - Nicholas County Literature Fair 
• October 16 - End of 1st Nine Weeks 

Literature Fair

The NLCA Literature Fair is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1st. I have explained the details and requirements for projects to the class. All students need to have a sixth grade appropriate book selected and approved by Friday, August 30. Once approved, students may begin reading their book and working on their projects. In sixth grade, literature fair projects also count as a language test grade and a reading test grade.
